This hydroform cartridge die has been developed around Lapua “blue box” brass which has 0.013” to 0.014” case neck thickness, but some thinning will occur during expansion out to .30 calibre.
The expander pin is tapered from just under 0.243” (6mm) to 0.3050” and will expand the case neck and reshape the 6mm BR case to the .30BR profile all at the same time. The outside diameter of a hydroformed case will be 0.329” to 0.330”.
All hydroforming should be done with raw brass before neck turning.
Annealing of the hydroformed cases is recommended before loading.
