Aluminium Barrel Vice (Large) Heavy Duty

If you only want to own one barrel vice for all your rifles then this large, H/D model is the best choice. It has two different sized jaw sets supplied so that it can accommodate all barrel diameters from 0.75″ (19mm) to 2” (51mm). It is manufactured from 50mm x 25mm 6061-T6 aluminium flat bar and has two M16mm x 160mm zinc coated high tensile bolts with the hexagon heads locked into the bottom plate. The bottom plate has two 10mm clearance holes drilled in it for mounting to a bench top if required, but the base plate can be held in a suitable vice for use.

The barrel vice comes with two jaw sets that cover the range 0.75″ (19mm) to 1.375″ (35mm) with the #1 jaw set and 1.25′ (32mm) to 2″ (51mm) with the #2 jaw set. The narrow 1″ (25.4mm) jaw width and large 16mm bolt diameter allows this vice to provide a higher clamping force on the barrel surface with two bolts than the wider 2 or 4 bolt model vices can provide, reducing the potential for slip and the resultant damage to the barrel surface. The vice is supplied with a vibratory polished finish.

This vice may be suitable for removing the majority of factory fitted barrels, but as the torque used to tighten factory barrels varies considerably it may be necessary to use our custom built steel vices for this purpose. Be careful not to allow the barrel to turn in the tightened vice as it will mark the surface finish, particularly blued or painted finishes
