Aluminium Barrel Vice (Small)

This smaller vice is primarily aimed at the rimfire and light hunting class rifle with small diameter barrels. The bolts, either one or both, depending on the model chosen, swing away from the top plate to allow quick operation without having to undo the nuts all the way, particularly convenient when the barrel is fitted with a tuner or similar device.

The bolts are manufactured from 4140 high tensile steel and the vice body from 50mm x 25mm 6061-T6 aluminium flat bar with a vibratory polished finish. Vice capacity is barrel diameters from .625″ (16mm) to 1.0″ (25.4mm). The bottom plate has two 10mm clearance holes drilled in it for mounting to a bench top if required, but the base plate can be held in a suitable vice for use.

This barrel vice may be suitable for removing the majority of factory fitted barrels, but as the torque used to tighten factory barrels varies considerably it may be necessary to use our heavy-duty vice or our custom built steel vices for this purpose. Be careful not to allow the barrel to turn in the tightened vice as it will mark the surface finish, particularly blued or painted finishes.
