AbD 18S2L70 ACTION DESIGN FEATURES – Designed for short and mid-range Bench Rest shooting.
- Base design: Single shot, cock on opening of the bolt handle, fully machined one piece bolt, 2 lug, 90 degree bolt throw, 25 degree coned bolt nose, 90mm bolt travel.
- 18mm bolt diameter with bolt face either .455” or .480”. (PPC or BR)
- Removable bolt handle allowing different profile and different length bolt handles to be fitted. This is a factory conversion only.
- Sako style extractor.
- Conventional coil spring firing pin. Different spring weights available.
- Available with or without the bolt face ejector pin. Three different ejector spring strengths available.
- R/H or L/H bolt handle, single or dual ported. Ground finish on bolt.
- Action overall length 192mm (7.55”).
- 71mm (2.79”) load port opening. 44.8mm (1.76”) eject port opening.
- Action body diameter 34.3mm (1.35”) with two M6mm hold down screw threads.
- Remington 700 compatible trigger utilising adjustable trigger hanger. (Trigger not included)
- Twin port action and bolt weight is 867grams (1.91lb) without trigger.
- Barrel tenon 1.0625” x 16tpi or 18tpi, cut to relevant international thread standards.
- Action body top face tapped with four, M4mm threads for rail mounting and four, 2.5mm dowel pins. This twin dowel setup will guarantee correct alignment of the two individual short rails or one long rail.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION SECTION
- Bolt material is Australian made 4140 alloy steel stress relieved, hardened and tempered to 40/42Rc before machining.
- Action material European made 630 Stainless Steel (17-4PH) stress relieved, hardened and tempered to 40/42Rc before machining. Action body ground finish.
- Action design has been tested to 200,000psi chamber pressure with no damage or deformation to the action.
- Over 500 rounds of 6mm PPC have been fired through the test actions during pressure and function testing with no measurable enlarging, elongation, malfunctioning, cracking or other damage to the action.
- Laser engraving of all model and serial numbers.
- An Action bedding block kit manufactured from 7050 series high strength aluminium and including a steel recoil lug and pillars is available if required.
- The 16tpi barrel tenon will accept correctly machined Barnard barrels and the 18tpi barrel tenon will accept correctly machined Bat barrels.
- Standard PIC/NATO and 12mm dovetail long or short (two piece) rails available in a range of MOA tapers with jacking screws for removal from the action. Rails manufactured to NATO/Stanag dimensions and are fully interchangeable with all Picatinny mounts.
- Every part of this action is designed and manufactured inhouse by Armaments by Design Pty Ltd except for the screws, springs and dowel pins. Supply and the heat treatment of the raw material is the only manufacturing process that is outsourced.
