The blank dies are predrilled, reamed and honed with a very accurate hole through the centre of the die body that matches the bullet calibre with less than one thousandths of an inch clearance.
The bullet seating guide tip has a long internal taper that will not mark your extra-long VLD projectiles and handles those short projectiles just as well.
The micrometre adjusting head is engraved in one half thousandths of an inch graduations (0.0005”) with a large clear scale that is easy to see and set. The bullet seating tip is also adjustable for length and both adjustments can be locked up with nylon tipped grub screws.
Overall, there is approximately 25mm of adjustment in the die so that the die can be reamed to different depths to suit almost any cartridge length in each calibre. With short for calibre cartridges, such as the 30BR Robinett, you may need to machine some length off the base of the die body before reaming.
Each die body is engraved with the base calibre for blank dies and the finished cartridge size for reamed dies. Finished dies also have the specific reamer identification number engraved on the die body.
If you choose to ream your custom chamber into a blank die you will need a reamer guide bush of the same diameter as the calibre of your reamer as the centre hole in all dies is the calibre diameter, not the bore diameter as used when reaming a rifle barrel.
