The standard length version of the bullet swaging press has an open area height of 123mm and stroke of 71mm. It can swage most bullets and be used for reloading of all calibres with overall loaded length of 85mm (3.34″) or less.

The press design allows good visibility and access while sitting in front of the press and doesn’t need an offset seating to allow operation. The cut outs in the side walls of the press frame and general location of all components provide easy, fast and stress free operation.
The micrometer adjustment allows repeatable and accurate adjustment of the stroke length of the press so that any wear or manufacturing tolerances in the press mechanism do not affect the quality of the finished product. Die travel is adjustable in 0.0005″ (0.0127mm) steps with a micrometer style adjuster. This press design also eliminates the cam-over action seen in almost all other presses and this results in superior swaging or reloading accuracy by accurately controlling the finished length of the swaged bullet or reloaded cartridge.
The press is 6061 T6 aluminium framed and uses 20mm diameter precision ground 4140 H/T bar in the guide bars and 35mm diameter for the main ram shaft. All shafts run in Teflon coated bronze faced steel shell bushings.
The die thread is located in a steel bushing locked into the aluminium press frame, providing long life and high repeatable accuracy to die location.
The press body and components are Cerakote painted and finished in a range of colours.
The micrometer depth stop unit has a hardened 4140 steel stop insert in the aluminium frame and the depth stop centre thread is also hardened 4140 steel. The positioning of the micrometer adjuster and its stopper can be reversed in the press so it can be located either in the upper press frame or on the moving platen. It is convenient when swaging bullets to locate the micrometer stop in the upper frame so that swaged bullets do not hit the micrometer as they are ejected from the die.
For reloading it may be more convenient located in the moving platen. A reloading kit is available as an optional.
The standard press is fitted with a 90 degree mounting plate, but a 25degree angle mounting plate is available as an optional extra This angle plate lays the press back for bullet swaging, allowing the ejected projectiles to drop free into a catch tray.
The advanced press handle action design results in high swaging forces without excessive arm strength required by the operator, and most importantly of all, extremely high accuracy, and repeatability in bullet length dimensions and concentricity or reloaded cartridges. The swivel ball located on the end of the handle is easy on the hands and the press can be operated either right handed or left handed by simply changing the handle location.
This swaging press does not require the die to be left loose so it can “self-align” and “self-centre” as the bullet is swaged as the press is built to such a high level of accuracy that the swaging plunger is perfectly aligned with the die at all times and the result is bullets of exceptional accuracy and consistency. Relying on “self-alignment” is a way of masking manufacturing inconsistencies and excessive machining tolerances, the two factors that produce inconsistencies in swaged bullet length and concentricity.
The press is supplied standard with two steel bushings giving 7/8″ UNF (.875″ x 14 TPI), 1 1/4″ UNF (1.250″ x 12 TPI) and 1 1/2″ UNF (1.5″ x 12 TPI) threads for the different dies available.
It is also supplied standard with two different Bottom Swaging Pin Nuts, one with a 5/16” (0.3125”) hole for use with common US made swaging die sets and one with a 3/8” (0.375”) hole suited to the die pins manufactured by Armaments by Design Pty Ltd. The AbD swaging die pins all utilise the 3/8” pin diameter for the full range of calibres from .224 to 375Cal. Whereas the 5/16” die pins are limited to smaller calibres.
When using the press for reloading, the die is set and locked up in the normal manner and the cartridge OAL is adjusted by the use of the micrometer stop length adjuster built into the press. This method of operation allows the use of standard bullet seating dies and results in greater loaded cartridge OAL accuracy than is possible with any other die or press method, eliminating the need for any shims or other micro adjusters on the die mount.
Included accessories.
- 1 x Reducing bush, 1.500” x 12tpi to 1.250” x 12tpi
- 1 x Reducing bush 1.500” x 12tpi to .875” x 14tpi
- 1 x Bottom Swaging Pin Nut 0.3125” hole diameter.
- 1 x Bottom Swaging Pin Nut 0.375” hole diameter.
Optional accessories.
- Reloading Kit. Part Number BSP2RK
The standard length swaging/reloading press has a reloading kit available as an optional extra that includes a shell holder for most standard case holders such as RCBS, Lyman, Hornady, etc. and a spent primer catch tray and bracket that is attached with the screws supplied to the front of the moving platen.
- Angled Mounting Bracket. Part Number BSP2ABK
An optimal 25-degree back sloping mounting plate which allows the press to lay back for bullet swaging. This option allows the ejected projectiles to drop free into a catch tray. The standard mount is a 90-degree plate that holds the press vertical to the mounting surface. Most press users seem to prefer the press angled back when used for swaging and vertical when used for reloading.
- Straight Line Bullet Seating Die Kit. Part Number SLBSDK
This kit consists of a blank plug to be screwed into the die holding thread in the top frame of the press and a receptor cup which is screwed into the ram thread and allows the swaging press to be used as an arbour press for bullet seating with a straight line die, such as those manufactured by Armaments by Design, L.E. Wilson and Sinclair/Brownells. All Standard seating dies can also be used in the press with the reloading kit.
All presses are serial numbered and come with a full Operating and Parts Manual.
Each press is shipped in a heavy cardboard box with foam cut interior to protect all components during travel. Assembly is very straight forward and simple.
*Stand for display purposes only and is not included with press.
